Join PXL at Johannesburg for Our 4-Day Doin's
Our Spring Clampout Registration is now Open!
Greetings my Brothers, as this year's Noble Grand Humbug, please accept my personal invitation to Peter Lebeck's 6031 Spring Doin's. It's promising to be one of our best. Starting Thursday April 16th through Sunday, we'll be Clamping in Johannesburg, California, where we'll be plaquing the 1896 Rand District Cemetery. We'll see some old Brothers and make some new Brothers, and it will be a great way to dive into another year of most satisfactory Clamping.
If you didn't get the flyer by mail, you can download it from our Spring Doin's Page where you can get all the info you need. Sign-up and prepay by April 4th, or by March 7th if you want an event shirt. So make sure to get your rub in ASAP, because we don't take walk-ins or retreads at PXL. If you have a PBC, get him vetted right away and download the Handbook, because sign-ups are also due by March 7th.
It's been several years since we last erected a stone monument, in part because of the cost. So I'm grateful for the multi-year support of our Graybeards who approved the funding; but this might never have happened without the persistence of Rand District native, Marie "Cactus Kate" Shrubb. Sadly, Kate passed in January, though I have no doubt that she'll be looking down from the heavens with a smile and a blessing for all of us when we plaque the cemetery on Saturday. In appreciation we have added Kate's name to the monument. I'll also be putting together a small work party to set the stone in place. This Is going to be an awesome plaque.
Finally, a "thank you" to everyone who attended January's Widders Ball, and especially to those who helped organize and offered their help during the event to make it a success. I couldn't have done it without you. It was a good start, and with everyone's participation it's going to be a truly satisfactory year. All I can say is, YABBA-DABBA-DOO The Flintstone Clan is coming! How about you?
See you in Johannesburg.
Your Noble Grand Humbug Dave "Boulder" Staley, PXL #1866
